SHELBY MASUCK

Service Areas: Jimani

Ministry Areas:  Children and Youth Discipleship, ESL

Hi, I’m Shelby.

I was born and raised in Tampa, FL.

For as long as I can remember, I have always been passionate about working with children. This passion led me to working in Elementary Education over the last ten years, working in low poverty schools with a high population of English Language Learners. Most recently, I specialized in the public schools system as an Interventionist for students who need intensive support to improve academic outcomes in literacy. My most special moments with my students are seeing them blossom, uncovering their individual gifts and building relationships with each one and their families.

I enjoy spending my time studying God’s word, learning, serving, sampling dark chocolate, cooking, being with my students, and my nieces and nephews that I adore so so much. However, my biggest passion is sharing the true and perfect One who came to rescue me, Jesus Christ. I love seeing others live a surrendered life so wrapped in His magnificent power and love that it overflows to others.

This past summer (2023) God gave me the opportunity to visit this beautiful community in Jimani on a mission trip. He provided His presence during our week in mighty and victorious ways. The Lord used that week and each precious encounter to invite me into what He is doing all around Jimani and He continues to enlarged my heart for the nations. His love transcends and has no boundaries. We serve a BIG God! When returned home to the United States, the Lord kept revealing and stirring my heart. He gently reminded me that my only part, as His daughter, is to respond in a way that is pleasing to Him, and that my life may be a bridge to draw people toward Jesus.

I’m both honored and humbled to join RTS Missions and be part of how God is moving here in the Dominican Republic. It’s such a joy to partner with this special group of believers, to be a witness of our God’s saving grace and also see many more people join in praising His name forever. He is worthy of all our affection!

My favorite attribute of God… His faithfulness.

Captivated by His love for the nations - Psalm 73:23-26

CAROLIN PAREDES

Service Areas: Sabana de la Mar

Ministry Areas:  Youth and Family Discipleship (His Kids)

I'm Carolin Paredes.

I was born in a Christian home in Santo Domingo, despite this I have spent most of my life outside of Santo Domingo, my father is a Pastor, so since I was little I have always been taught about Jesus.

When I was 14 years old I recognized my situation as a sinner and gave my life to Jesus; At that time I lived in Jimaní, where I discovered the love I felt for working with children.

A few years ago I started working with His Kids, a program belonging to RTS Missions, where we work in 4 areas with the children we have been reaching, the spiritual area, the emotional area, the physical area and education.

In this program, together with some incredible Children's Advocates and RTS Missions, we have managed to reach more than 130 children to whom we have shown Jesus' love, and give them nutrional food every week.

We have also focused on helping those children who do not have access to education, through reading, writing, mathematics and English, impacting many children.

Likewise, together with the His Kids project we have reached children in educational centers where we have planned to provide a safe space for each of those children to whom we talk about Jesus.

I love reading the Bible, history, listening to podcasts, philosophy, being active, altruistic work, learning new things and above all sharing the message of the transforming Jesus that I have known.

I am a student of Child Psychology, so I enjoy applying all the knowledge I learn to the children around me.

Some time ago I moved from Jimaní to Sabana de la Mar where we have continued working with the His Kids project to continue reaching more children, adolescents and Youth for the Lord.

I love the work that RTS Missions is doing on the island where I live, and I love even more the fact that by the grace of God I can be a part of it.

Just as water reflects the face, so the heart of man reflects man. Proverbs 27:19. 🤍

FRANCIS (ANYELIN) PASTRAN

Service Areas: Juan Dolio, Paloma, Los Fundos

Ministry Areas:  Sports Ministry, Youth Ministry, Food Distribution

GOES BY AN-JA-LEAN.

Hello! Hello! My name is Francis Pastran but everyone calls me Anyelin! I am 22 years old and I live in the Dominican Republic. I am very happy and excited to be part of the RTS Mission family!

A little bit about me.

I met Christ in 2014 in the baseball ministry at my home church, IBM Juan Dolio with Pastor Robersy Lara. I was baptized in 2015 and was in discipleship until I hurt my arm playing baseball in 2019. After this I thought my life was over because for me baseball was my only hope and that made me separate from the Lord and the church.  I thought I was making the best decision and living my life the way I wanted until I started thinking about what had happened and that my life is meaningless without Christ. After 3 nights in a row of crying myself to sleep without understanding, I learned that my church and Pastor Robersy Lara were taking time to pray for those who had fallen away from the Lord.

I decided to go to church one Sunday shortly after and the preaching really caught my attention, so I texted my friend Guiberson. We started talking about the gospel and I started crying again and at that moment I came back to Christ in

August 3, 2021! AMEN!

I am the only believer in my family, so from the moment I returned to Christ I started discipleship again with Guiberson for 2 months. During that time I felt the Lord calling me to work with children in the baseball ministry and in Sunday School. I am also a leader in a Friday night youth group.

I am praying to start a kids club soon at another church called Paloma y Los Fundos.

One thing I always make sure the youth and children I work with through these ministries know is that they always have hope in Jesus Christ.

God bless you!

EMELIN (PINA) PERDOMO

Service Areas: Jimani

Ministry Areas:  Medical Ministry, Translation, Sports Ministry

I'm Emelin Seplira Perdomo aka Piña 🍍

I'm 24 years old. Born and raised in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic. I live with my parents and my 3 siblings.

As I was raised in a Christian household.  I used to go to church 4 days a week, but since being raised with Christian parents doesn't automatically make you a christian, at the age of 11 I gave my life to Jesus and it has been a long journey with highs and lows but with Jesus by my side.

I graduated from nursing school October 28th, 2022.  For the last 8 years, I have used my language and medical skills to work alongside medical teams to help people.

I love music, talking, coffee, nursing, the moon, spend time with my family, mission work, reading, learning new languages, sleep, volleyball, fried chicken and I love telling people about my Jesus because I want them to experience the same love and grace that I've experienced.

I'm so honored to be part of the RTS family! I'm sure God has done, is doing and will continue to do great things.

Colossians 3:23 —

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.

THE SEGURAS

Service Areas: Jimani

Ministry Areas:  Administration, Team Logistics, Youth Discipleship, Food Distribution, Young Adults

Hello, we are the Segura family.

We are a family originally from Barahona, a beautiful province from Dominican Republic called the pearl of the south. A Christian family, which God has called to serve in the mission field. We come from families with Christian roots, our entire lives have been surrounded by people who serve and live with Christ in their lives.

Anny and I met in 2016, we have two beautiful children, Josias, a bright and very cheerful 8-year-old boy who I met and loved when I met My wife, and Aphnaly, a beautiful 1-month-old girl currently born in September 2023 who has become the little sunshine princess of the house.

We are a family that loves to read the Bible together, play together, watch movies, cook as a family, and go out to eat.  I am a musician and my wife has a beautiful voice, we love to worship God with songs.

In 2021, God called us through Pastor Greg Shepherd, President of RTS Missions, full-time to the mission field to serve with RTS and fulfill God's purpose. We moved from our hometown to a community called jimaní that borders the country of Haiti. In this beautiful place, Anny as Administrator and I as the Field Director of RTS, have seen how God works in the lives of the people and communities of this municipality with both nations.

As part of the RTS ministry, we serve alongside different missionary impact teams throughout the year, activities for hundreds of children throughout the week, Young Adult Programs, food distribution and other programs in which God has shown His support.

We love what we do for God and feel more than honored to belong to this great Family of RTS Missions, reaching, teaching & sending. God continues to do wonderful things.

MARCO VALLEJO

Service Areas: Juan Dolio, Paloma, Los Fundos

Ministry Areas:  Sports Ministry, Youth Ministry, Food Distribution

Hola!!! My name is Marcos Suero Vallejo and by the grace of God I have been in the faith for 7 years, since the Lord saved me in 2015. I am a part of RTS Missions and I’m serving the Lord through baseball ministry.

I feel that the Lord called me to baseball ministry, not just because I enjoy the sport, but through baseball I came to know the Lord. I want to continue to use it as a tool for God to save children and young people as He did with me.

I am a member of Iglesia Bautista Misionera (IBM) de Juan Dolio or Juan Dolio Missionary Baptist Church and help in various ministries. I am a leader in the youth group, teach in Sunday School and obviously serve through the baseball ministry too. I love working with young people and sharing the Gospel with them.

The reason I love working with children and youth is because they will become future leaders, Pastors and together we will spread the Gospel and the love of Christ to others.

I want to leave you with my favorite verse, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17. It reminds me always that I should live for Christ and not for man. I am a new creature and I should not look back and go back to living as my old self.
