WHAT WE BELIEVE
At RTS Missions, we are committed to the authority of Scripture, the proclamation of the Gospel, and the fulfillment of the Great Commission through evangelism, discipleship, and compassionate ministry. RTS Missions is a non-denominational Christian organization.
We joyfully affirm the following truths:
The Scriptures
We believe that the Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. Scripture is the final and supreme authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living. We believe the Bible is fully trustworthy and that all doctrine, teaching, and ministry must be grounded in God’s Word. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21)
The Trinity
We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and one in essence, worthy of all worship, honor, and obedience. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension into Heaven, and literal return in power and glory. Through His sacrificial death and victorious resurrection, salvation is made available to all who believe in Him. (John 1:1–14; Hebrews 4:15; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Revelation 19)
Humanity, Sin, and Salvation
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God with dignity and purpose. However through Adam’s sin, humanity fell into sin and separation from God. As a result, all people are sinners by nature and is in need of salvation. (Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12)
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone . No person can be saved through human effort, religious works, traditions, or through any other mediator. Jesus Christ alone is the way, the truth, and the life. We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace received by faith. Those who confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ
is Lord and place their trust in Him alone are forgiven, redeemed, and saved. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9–10; Ephesians 2:8–9)
Eternal Security
We believe that every true believer is eternally secure in Christ. Salvation is the work of God’s grace, and those who are genuinely born again are kept by God’s power. A true believer seeks to live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. (John 10:28–30; Ephesians 1:13–14) (Matthew 7:21–23; Galatians 5:22–23)
Heaven, Hell, and Eternity
We believe in the reality of Heaven and Hell. Those who place their faith in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the presence of God, while those who reject Him remain separated from God eternally. We believe in the narrow way that leads to life and the broad way that leads to destruction, as taught by Jesus Christ. (Matthew 7:13–14; Revelation 20:11–15)
Sanctification
We believe that every believer is called to a life of sanctification and holiness through the work of the Holy Spirit. Sanctification is the ongoing process by which God transforms believers to become more like Christ in character, obedience, and love. While Christians are not perfect, true believers are called to deny themselves, pursue righteousness, and live lives that honor God. (Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 5:16–25; 1 Peter 1:15–16)
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, indwells every Christian, and empowers believers to live holy and obedient lives. The Holy Spirit equips believers with gifts for the edification of the Church and the advancement of the Gospel. (John 16:7–13; Romans 8:9–11)
The Church
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all true believers worldwide, with Jesus Christ as its Head. The Church exists to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, serve others, and equip believers. (Ephesians 1:22–23; Matthew 28:19–20)
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe that water baptism by immersion is an act of obedience following salvation and a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism symbolizes the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the believer’s new life in Him. We believe that every believer should pursue baptism as an act of obedience to Christ.
We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice until He returns. (Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)
The Great Commission
We believe that every believer is called to participate in the mission of God by proclaiming the Gospel, making disciples, serving the vulnerable, and reflecting the love of Christ to the nations. We are committed to reaching, teaching, and sending individuals to engage their world for Christ. (Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8)
