Florida Chamber of Commerce
Marian Johnson is Senior Vice President of Political Strategy for the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Florida’s largest business federation, representing 139,000 companies, associations, state and local chambers. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Florida Chamber Political Institute, a unique research organization that provides vital detailed demographic and political analysis to its members.
Politics are only a part of Johnson’s life. Being a Muskogee Creek Indian, her love for her heritage has inspired her to teach the Muskogee language which she does each week. She has also recorded a CD, Pum Afvcketvn, We Will Sing Hallelujah. Marian holds Doctorates in, Religious Education, Counseling, Ministry and a Doctorate of Divinity.
Johnson and her husband maintain a residence in Tallahassee, Florida and in South Georgia. The couple has three children. They have two grandsons and two granddaughters and one great granddaughter. Full Bio
Pastor Jake English
With a background in the banking and finance industry Jake answered the call to full time ministry in his life and started on staff at Idlewild Baptist Church in 2001. His ministry involved college age and young professionals. With a strong presence on several of the major university campuses throuout the area, Jake's desire is to connect the local college community to a college ministry uniquely designed to meet their needs.
By providing opportunities for worship, combined with large and small group Bible studies the ministry works to give students and young profesionals a way to grow in their faith and friendships.
Johnny Grant, III
The Strategic Counsel Law Firm
Johnny is a lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay area. He graduated from Chamberlain High School and then attended the University of South Florida, where he received his degree in Finance. Johnny then attended Stetson University College of Law. While there, he was a member of the prestigious Trial Team program, which has been consistently in the top 3 in the nation by US News and World Report. He won 2 national championships as a student and returned to the school as an instructor and coach for the trial program, where he won 2 more national championships, 3 regional championships and 3 state championships. Johnny began his legal career at the State Attorney’s Office in Hillsborough County. In his 8 years as a prosecutor, Johnny served as the Trial Trainer for the office, as a felony division chief and tried over 200 trials. In 2001, he opened his own firm, which concentrates in estate planning, civil litigation and criminal defense.
Johnny was saved in 2004, and married his wife Julie in 2006. He has been a member of Idlewild Baptist Church since 2005 and is active in the recreation ministry and is a teacher of the Family Matters adult Bible Fellowship Class. He is a father of four children: Jack (6), Ellie (5), Will (4) and Wyatt (2). He is also pursuing a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dr. Paul Khalil
Miami Children's Hospital
Dr. Khalil was born in a small town in Southern West Virginia to an Egyptian Pastor and an American Physician. He has one younger brother. Paul was raised in the church and cannot remember a time without Christ in his life. He does remember a few instances particularly in middle school when Christ's love became more personal. Paul attended Wheaton College in Illinois for college, and went on to medical school at West Virginia University. He recently completed his residency in pediatrics at Miami Children’s Hospital, and has stayed for a fellowship to sub-specialize in pediatric emergency medicine. Paul is a deacon at Crossbridge Church in Miami. He has been on several medical mission trips including two to Haiti, and Paul has a passion for spreading God’s love through health to the international community.
Rev. Dr. Larry Johnson
Tama Community Church
Mr. Johnson is a retired Educator, School Administrator and Principal. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Troy University, and Ph.D in Theology and Biblical Studies.
Mr. Johnson is the Senior Pastor at Tama Community Church in Georgia.
Pastor Don Cable
Northwoods Baptist Church
Don is the Senior Pastor of Northwoods Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born in Akron, Ohio, but was raised close to Massillon, Ohio. He graduated from Perry High School in 1969, then graduated with a BS in Education from Kent State University. He spent time teaching and coaching in the public school system, then several years in sales, and time with the UPS.
Don went into full time ministry in 1994 at Northwoods Baptist Church serving as Evangelism and Education Pastor until 2005. Don had left the ministry for a brief time, but returned in 2007 to Northwoods in 2007 and became its Senior Pastor in March of 2010.
Donald (Don) Roberts, D.D.S., M.S.D.
Don was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma September 26, 1946. He attended public schools in Tulsa and graduated from Edison High School in 1964. He was raised in a Christian home with a mom and dad, as well as a godly Grandmother a few blocks away. Don accepted Jesus Christ at age 11 and was baptized soon after.
Don attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. degree in Psychology. Don was also a scholarship football player for Oklahoma University from 1964-1968. Don attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas graduating in 1974. He completed his pediatric residency in Dallas in 1977.
Don has been married to Martha for 42 years. They have two adult children, both married, and four grandkids. Don and Martha attend Wildwood Community Church in Norman, Oklahoma where they have been active since 1980. The Roberts teach 2nd and 3rd grade Sunday school, and participates in medical/dental mission trips. Don has had an active pediatric dental practice in Norman, Oklahoma since 1979.
United States Postal Service
Sam is no stranger to the church and it’s call to reach the nations with the gospel message. Having been on several missions trips around the world and being heavily involved in sending teams overseas, he has a heart for meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of the lost.
Sam and his did owned a cabinet company for 20 years, and Sam now works with the United States Postal Service. Sam is involved in various ministries at his church including the music ministry and leading small groups.
He is a licensed preacher and currently serves as an elder at Northwoods Baptist Church and on the Board of Directors for the Tallahassee Biblical Counseling Ministry. He and his wife Marcia live in Tallahassee.
